Gorgeous origami quilts! Very talented you are. Anytime you want to make more, I would happily accept another one to go along with the beautiful one I have.

You are amazing! Now it is my turn to receive one. :)

Yes, Heather it is. Maybe you should have been first on the list, except now he has worked all the "kinks" out.

Mom - you can count on more quilts coming your way in the future. And yes, the beauty of not being the first is that the kinks get worked out :)

Heather - You have only to pick out the colors and the pattern you want :-D

I'm so glad I found this blog. My 9-year-old son just started getting into more "complicated" patterns. He absolutely loves origami :) He actually made me a beautiful paper rose the other day! I hope I can find patterns in your blog that can inspire him.

Carol - Thank you! I love hearing when younger people are into origami! I didn't pick it up until just after high school. Definitely encourage him to continue. I hope you enjoy some of the things that I post here :)

Very beautiful origami quilts! Love your colour combination too. Especially the quilts with the black backgrouds looks simply fabulous!

I'm just starting to do the models in Origami Quilts - I've made a bunch of Hydrangea 2 - but I'm having a really hard time with Flower Crosses. From steps 7 - 9, I just can't seem to figure out how the under flap folds upward. Any suggestions?

origamiaday - Thank you so much! My apologies for not seeing your comment sooner :-\ After looking briefly at your blog and site, I enjoyed your folding :-)
Anyone should definitely take a look: http://papernpearlz.com/

Lindsay - Thanks for stopping to take a look at my work :-D
I love hearing about others that have found Tomoko Fuse's origami quilts! Here is a short video of the steps that you were describing:

From your description, these are the steps that I'm assuming you were referring to on the Flower Crosses model. Please let me know if you need any additional help; I'm always willing to help where I can :-)

I'm so glad I found your blog. I'm actually doing an Origami Quilt with Fuse's book and I'm stuck on a step. I see that you done the Star 3 quilt and I'm having some difficulty with folding the tip of Star 2 (pg. 74 of the book. I'm assuming you have it :) I think I understand how it works with the joining unit, it's getting the tips folded right so you can insert the joining unit. I love Tomoko Fuse's designs but sometimes I find the diagrams a bit difficult to understand. Thanks for any help!

Never mind! I slept on it and looked at the pattern with fresh eyes. And I came to the conclusion that I'm an idiot! I'm definitely following your blog though. I love the colors you choose.

audsie81 - My apologies for not getting back to you sooner, though I'm glad to hear that you were able to figure out where you had gotten stuck. If something similar ever happens in the future, I would love to help if it's possible; just let me know!
Tomoko Fuse is easily my favorite origami artist and I love folding anything I can find of her's. The color choices are vastly to be attributed to my wife who has a great eye for that. She is an amazing help with making my origami look better. Thank you again for finding my blog! :-)

Hi Stephen,
I love the patterns the quilting makes and agree that they look just as good on the reverse side as the front!
Also Tomoko is a favourite of mine and I have made hundreds of her amazing patterns to decorate my home and as gifts and it always makes me smile to see the end result after ages of concentrated folding!
Have you tried to mount your quilts between two sheets of Perspex that way you can view both sides and show off the best of both? It's just a thought and if you try it let us know.
All the best and happy folding!
Sandra
